The first style was a hand painted laurel leaf barrette. Linda bought the leaves at a craft store, hand painted them then glued each leaf onto a metal hair barrette.  This style was an instant success!  These barrettes were sold at local hair salons and speciality stores throughout  Chicago.

After graduating from college in 1986, Linda was urged by store buyers to develop a more extensive line of hair accessories as well as to "make a few earrings".

In 1987, Linda Levinson Designs was born! Aside from hair barrettes, we offer jewelry, picture frames and other cool stuff!
